Perth Perth Perth

30 11 2008

Okay, so i skipped a week of school.

TO GO TO PERTH !

And it was ultra-awesome!

So, Perth, we went there on my grandma’s birthday. The crew made a birthday card for her – it was quite pretty though, considering the limited resources they had. They gave us some fruit dessert as a replacement for a birthday cake.

There, we did so many things. We went to Caversham Wildlife Park and watched some kelpie dogs muster sheep into a pen. And we also saw a shepherd sheering a sheep. They also demonstrated how shepherds crack whips.

We also went shopping – LOTS of shopping. I shopped for clothes, lots and lots of clothes.

There, I went for walks with my grandpa and helped my mum cook my dinners. My dinner were the same everyday, CHICKEN KATSU yummm ! πŸ˜‰

Soon, we had to go home. But the week’s been awesome. Then, I came back , and 12 hours later, I got the best shock of my life πŸ˜‰

1st Day In Singapore

1 11 2008

So, continuing the previous post, my dad brought us to saty in Singapore for the weekend. Although it was suppose to be Uncle Kenneth and my dad’s weekend break, they gave it up for us – thank you! We stayed at Elizabeth Hotel. It was also my parents’ honeymoon hotel, so after 13 years of marriage, they were quite happy to come back.

That Saturday morning, – we shifted there on Friday night – my dad went back to Johor Bahru for the Bank Negara exhibition. So my mum and I had the day to us. She wanted to go to Tangs so we decided to walk down to Orchard Road, go walk around for a bit, and take a taxi back up to the hotel. So, we went past some buildings including York Hotel, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Paragon and Lucky Plaza. It actually felt like I was walking in London.

So anyway, we went into Tangs to try and fins something to buy for my friends. But we didn’t find anything to buy for my friends there. So we went to Lucky Plaze instead. There, I got a Chocolate McD ice-cream with extra chocolate topping. In Lucky Plaza, I finally found some souvenirs to buy for my friends – frames for my girls and coins & Singapore stamps for the guys. My mum also bought some small pouches and fridge magnets. After Lucky Plaza, we stopped in Paragon.

Since we were in there, my mum wanted to see Marks & Spencer. Soon after that, we went to Metro. There were many new High School Musical merchandise since the third movie had just come out in cinemas. There, my mum bought Hannah Montana T-shirt dresses for my cousins.

Then, we decided to go to the Singapore Science Centre by MRT. From the MRT station, we took a cab to the Science Centre. A big Tyranosaurus Rex was dutied to greet people. There were also some special effects given to make the T-Rex look more alive.

Since we only have 2 hours to spare, my mum and I decided to buy tickets for the Science Display only. Once I stepped into the Science Gallery, there were pretty awesome things. And by awesome, i mean AWESOME!

So anyway, we got to see only some from the exhibitions becuase my dad was already at the hotel and he planned to go to Mustafa. And so, after a few other exhibitions, we took a cab to the MRT station. We then rode a train to Farrer Park. My mum wanted to eat briyani rice at a restaurant near Mustafa since that place is famous for briyani rice. Unfortunately, the briyani rice there had finished. So we shifted to another briyani rice shop. There too was out of briyani rice – wow, many people must LOVE briyani rice. Finally, we went to another shop. We ate there instead.

After that, we thought about waiting for a cab at Mustafa. But the wait was too long, so people started to take the cabs in the line. We then got away from the line. After a few minutes, we FINALLY got a cab. He took us back to Elizabeth Hotel.

After we went up, got showered and changed into fresh clothes, we went back out to Takashimaya. Now, I didn’t actually expect my dad to bring me to Takashimaya just to overcome my curiosity. He wanted to check out the bags to buy for my mum. While they browse through the handbag section, I wandered over to the purse section. It was really expensive. WHOA. Later, I wanted to go to the toys section – I wanted to see how cool and how expensive they were. Then, I saw stickers hung on a rack. I remembered my dad’s cousin from Johor had bought some kind of stickers from Takashimaya and I had always wanted it. So, I saw it, and I took a silver and pink alphabetic one, and black ‘Alice In Wonderland’ stickers. They were S$9.05. So, since my dad said ‘okay’, I bought it – using his money of course.

Then, we went to Mustafa because he wanted to buy my mum a new handphone since she had lost hers in KLIA on the way here. We also bought some basmati to bring back home. After a little wandering and stuff, we found my dad in the belt section. By that time, I was already tired. So, my dad gave the car keys to my mum and told her to bring me to the car. When we go to the car, I was really tired. I lied down and intended to rest. But the next time I awoke, we were infront of Elizabeth Hotel’s lobby.

That’s the end of the day…

My Dad’s Birthday Surprise

30 10 2008

Last Friday was the last day of tests this year. It was SRK Damansara Utama’s PKSR IV and it was also my dad’s birthday. So, my mum decided to go to Johor Bahru, since it was his birthday and he was there because of a conference.

I’ll tell you the whole story about the weekend then :

At Friday, around 1220pm, my mum picked my up. She said ‘Let’s go to Johor and see Papa’. I was shocked – and surprised – by the idea. It was meant to surprise him, but I was surprised first by the idea. After a couple of hours packing and stuff, my aunty drove my mum and me to KL Sentral.

My mum bought some Economy Class stand-by tickets. Then, we bought the tickets to go to KLIA. Once the train stopped at KLIA, we got the next flight and went to gate A11. We boarded the flight at 1715hrs.

After less than an hour later, the journey stopped. It was quite a long walk to the bus station. But we managed to get the bus.

Apparently my mum thought the bus would stop nearer to the Puteri Pan Pacific, but to her surprise, it stopped further then she expected. The walk there was quite a while and tiring. But as soon as we walked into the lobby, the normal happy feeling came back.

I called my dad to say that we were already in the Johor Puteri Pan Pacific’s lobby and we sat down while we waited. When he came down and saw us, his face lit up immediately. My mum described the look as “a look she had not seen for a very long time“.

That evening, after my mum and I had showered and change into fresh clothes, my dad’s friends, Aunty Jazreen, Uncle Kenneth, Uncle Azlan and my parents and I had dinner together. We had fish, cuttlefish, sweet and sour prawns and fried kangkung with white rice – well , i had fried rice with egg.

Later, after some pictures and lots of talking, my parents and I went to Singapore. My dad wanted to stay there for the weekend. That was the end of the day.

Yeah, my writing’s become different right ? HAHA, but that day was different then others. I know its late but on behalf of that day, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA !

Yay ! Raya !

27 09 2008

Hey people !

I apologize for not posting as I promised, apparently I’ve been busy with all the extra class my ‘sekolah agama’ had organized .

Anyway ,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri !

Raya always somehow remind me of the end-of-year holidays . Probably this might be the saddest yet , cause I’ll be leaving SKDU , where I’ve been suffering 6 years of homework . That also means that some of my friends have gone to international school .

This holiday also means that im finally going to be a TEEN ! No longer a pre-teen . Goodbye pre-teen world , Hel-lo TeenLand !

That also means that I’ll be goingΒ  to get ready for more homework ! What whatever . I’ll just tell the teacher “Yeah , Sure , Whatever . I’m too awesome for it ” . I know , I’ve changed and I’ve become more sarcastic and *’perasan-ning’ . It’s practically what we , Std 6’s do actually …….. Even if we go to school , we’ll just ‘lepak’ around the class and go with our “Hey , we’re almost teens . Lay off it !” attitude .

That’s what we do ! πŸ˜€

So , lastly , I’d like to say to those awesome dudes who’ve moved : “I’ll miss ya !”

SELAMAT HARI RAYA again πŸ™‚

The Pressure Is On

1 07 2008

Hello people!

So, I have to ace that, get good marks.

That’s tough. So, bye then.

See ya when UPSR finishes πŸ™‚

Destination : Australia

27 05 2008

Today, we went to the Queen Victoria Market to get more things as we – mainly me – don’t have enough to keep for ourselves and our friends.

We bought some boomerang fridge magnets, more koala clips, some more boomerangs, two purses – shaped like a koala and a kangaroo head – and a kangaroo pencil box with a few tea towels.

Later, my mum and I went to a doughnut van and bought two for $1.80. There was strawberry jam inside them.

[I just figured that doughnut is the English spelling and the American spelling is donut]

After that, we went to the city. We went to somewhere near Swanston Street. My dad parked in the parking lot and we went up to Elizabeth Street.

Soon, we were in the Royal Arcade. It was a very nice building with marble floors. First, we stopped at a place called Babushkaa. It was a shop that sold Russian dolls. There were many varieties of them.

Later, we went to a shop called Westminster. It sold very delicate things that were beautiful but very expensive. Some of their goods’ prices went down a LOT! Amongst the things we bought were two musical carousels. One for me and one for my aunt as her birthday is coming up. It was only $19.90 – which was, very, very, VERY cheap!. We also bought 4 nice brooches with ribbons on it. It was only $2 each, which came down from $29.95 – how shocking, I know.

After that, we went to buy new shoes for me. I wanted some boots. Because I live in Malaysia, I could only buy the ankle-high ones. I bought some black ones for $34.90.

They were very nice. I had fun with them. It went nicely with my black jeans. I was very happy!

Unfortunately, I have to go back home tonight. Our flight is at 0015hrs, Melbourne time. Its sad but, hey, at least I got new boots! πŸ˜‰
